Cordless Registration

After you have physically installed the IP DECT Stand to a Mitel IP Phone, you must register the handsets with the IP DECT Stand. You can then configure the 5610 cordless handsets for operation using

• a web browser, such as Internet Explorer (recommended method)
• the menu on the 5610 cordless handset
• a configuration file that you install on a server in the Local Area Network

If you configure from the web browser interface or from the handset, you must configure each handset individually. If you use configuration files, a file must be created for each IP DECT Stand. The configuration file specifies the parameters of the handsets (up to eight) that are associated with an IP DECT Stand.

To complete registration and configuration, the following must be completed:

• "Add Site"
• Add a User
• Register the Handsets with the IP DECT Stand
• Assign an IP Address to the IP DECT Stand
• Configure Handsets via IP-DECT Stand Configurator Web Interface

After you configure the handsets on an IP DECT Stand, ensure that you Change the Handset Display Name and PIN from the default values to prevent unauthorized access.
